Chemistry encompasses the synthesis and study of
molecules and materials, the exploration of their properties and the
development of ways to use them in real life. This involves an understanding of
the mechanisms of reactions and processes that occur at the molecular level. An
understanding of the principles of chemistry underlines disciplines such as
biochemistry, engineering, food science, materials science, nanotechnology and
pharmacy.
This laboratory has unique facilities for the students in the area of
Analog & Digital electronics, AC and DC circuits and Very Large Scale
Integration (VLSI). To verify fundamentals of electrical laws, network
theorems, rectifiers, amplifiers etc. It has modern equipment such as
Analog-Digital trainer, Digital Storage Oscilloscope, Digital Function
Generator, AC Circuit trainer, DC Circuit trainer and associated measuring
instruments.
Electrical Machine and Power Electronics lab is equipped with latest apparatus for hands on practical knowledge and competency based education. This lab is unique for its modern three phase induction motor and compound generator, synchronous motor, three-phase transformer, servo and Universal motor, Power Thyristor trainer, DC Motor Thyristor Speed Controller, Chopper/Inverter Control Unit etc.
The Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering (EEE)
at NITER has recently included an integrated Analog Communication Training
System-(ETEK ACS-3000) and a Switchgear and Protection Trainer Module (PT-T68)
into its Power System and Communication lab (AC 308). These additions are
significant enhancement in terms of practical learning for the students. These
modules introduce the students with hands-on experience in configuring
different types of modulation/demodulation techniques, designing various types
of filters, configuring protection schemes, testing relays, and understanding
the critical role of switchgear in ensuring the safe operation of electrical
systems. By adding these modules into the EEE lab, NITER not only strengthens
theoretical foundations but also prepares students with essential practical skillset
for tackling real-world challenges in communication and power system
engineering.
