NITER Career Club successfully concludes ‘SparkTank'24’.
The Grand Finale of Dhaka Bank PLC presents SparkTank'24, organised by the NITER Career Club at the National Institute of Textile Engineering and Research (NITTER) Savar, Dhaka, was held on Friday (November 15).
There were at least 450 contestants from 65 universities in the country in this national-level competition. 128 students were selected in various categories for the final phase of the competition, which started on October 28.
The final phase of the competition begins with the 'Battles of Mastermind' and 'Case Challenge' starting at 10 a.m. After that, a series of photographic exhibition fashion shows were held in designs made by NITER students.
At the end of the competition, the Battles of Mastermind were won by Team 'Brainstorm Duo'; the first runner-up was Team 'Intrepid', and the second runner-up was Team 'Fab Collabor'. The Case Challenge was won by Team 'Light House'; the first runner-up was Team 'Chosma', and the second runner-up was Team 'Sicilian Defence’.
Separate winners for mobile and camera are announced at the photography exhibition. Md. Mofizul Islam won in mobile photography; the first runner-up was Khalid Hasan, and the second runner-up was Shaheenur Siddique. M.A. Rafi won in camera photography, Mehdi Hasan became the first runner-up, and Mahin Zaman became the second runner-up.
Prize money of 60,000 TK was given to the winners of three segments along with a memento.
Chairman of Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA), Showkat Aziz Russell, was present virtually as the chief guest. Guest were Ummay Afia Akhtar, Manager of the Human Resource Department of Hameem Group, and Abdul Hakim, Chief Marketing Officer of Hoorain Hi-Tech Fabrics (Jamuna Group).
Appreciating this initiative of the NITER Career Club, BTMA President Showkat Aziz Russell said that the NITER Career Club will continue this trend in the development of future artisans. He also said, ‘We should work together on the inconsistencies of the textile sector’.
At that event, the HR Manager of Ha-Meem Group, Ummay Afia Akhter, said ‘this initiative of the NITER Career Club is commendable in creating future leaders in the industry. In addition, he offered open internship proposals to NITER students.'
A team consist of Ankita Poddar Tithi, Sumaiya Islam Disha & Imam Hassan Safin from NITER made it to top 6 into SparkTank'24.
