A Seminar on Sustainable Supply Chain Strategy
The Department
of Industrial and Production Engineering (IPE) at the National Institute of
Textile Engineering and Research (NITER) proudly hosted a successful seminar
entitled “Sustainable Supply Chain:
Implementation Strategy for Bangladesh” on July 9, 2024 held at NITER
conference room.
The seminar was
inaugurated by the Prof. Dr. Mohammad Junaebur Rashid, Honorable Director,
NITER and delivered his welcome Speech. In his speech, he mentioned the
importance of logistics management for an organization starting from raw
materials procurement to deliver finished goods towards consumer. He also highlighted
the institute's ongoing efforts to provide such enriching opportunities to its
students, preparing them for successful careers in industry.
The seminar
featured distinguished resourceful person and professor (adjunct) of Southeast
University, Bangladesh-Dr. Maj Gen Md Abu Sayed Siddique (Retd.), OSP, SUP,
SPP, AFWC, PSC. Dr. Siddique provided his invaluable insightful experience
about sustainable supply chain implementation strategy and its benefits for an
organization in Bangladesh. Moreover, he has showed the way to the audience to
bridge the gap between the academia and supply chain management industry.
The seminar was concluded
with a speech from the Associate Professor and head of the IPE department, Dr.
Toufique Ahmed, who expressed his gratitude towards NITER’s esteemed Director
Prof. Dr. Mohammad Junaebur Rashid and speaker Dr. Siddique for his
contribution and praised the students for their enthusiastic participation and
thanked all the faculty members and associated administrative officers.
Overall, this
seminar aimed to meet the students’ thirst for knowledge and surely, to orient
them with the pros and cons of the industry culture. The program was hosted by
Raihan Ahmed Joy, Assistant Professor, Department of IPE.
