Mohammad Billal Hossain

Mohammad Billal Hossain is currently working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Textile Engineering at the National Institute of Textile Engineering and Research (NITER), Savar—an esteemed institution affiliated with the University of Dhaka. With over 15 years of teaching experience, he is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of textile engineers by combining academic rigor with practical industry insights.

Professor Hossain began his professional career as a Production Officer at Sinha Textile Group, where he gained valuable industry experience. He later transitioned into academia, serving as an Associate Professor at Primeasia University. During his tenure there, he also held the role of Co-Chairperson of the Department of Textile Engineering, contributing significantly to academic leadership, curriculum development, and student mentorship.

He earned both his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Textile Engineering from the Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX), formerly known as the College of Textile Technology. He graduated first in his department during his master’s program. Currently, he is pursuing a Ph.D. in Textile Engineering as a research fellow at Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology (DUET).

An alumnus of the prestigious Notre Dame College, Dhaka, Professor Hossain brings a strong blend of academic excellence and field-level expertise. His areas of interest include textile innovation, sustainable manufacturing, and advanced engineering practices. He remains committed to advancing Bangladesh’s textile sector through research, innovation, and the promotion of sustainable technologies both nationally and internationally.
