Department of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE)
Mr. Jakiul Islam is serving
as a Lecturer of Physics at National Institute of Textile Engineering and
Research-NITER (a constituent institute of Dhaka University) since October,
2021. He obtained a Master of Science degree in Physics from Bangladesh
University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 2020, securing a CGPA of
3.92 (out of 4.00). He obtained his Bachelor of Science with Honours degree in
Physics from Pabna University of Science and Technology (PUST) in 2016 (Held in
2018), securing a CGPA of 3.69 (out of 4.00) with the First position. He worked
as a Teaching Assistant in BUET for one year (from April 2019 to March 2020). He
is a Community Associate member of the prestigious Journal publisher, ‘American
Chemical Society’. He worked as a member of the Scientific sub-committee at the
6th conference (2021) of Bangladesh Crystallographic Association.
His research interests include exploring the physical properties of chiral
noncentrosymmetric superconductors, Kagome superconductors, ThCr2Si2-type
superconductors, MAX phases, and metal halide perovskites, using DFT-based
First-principles calculations. He has published 9 research articles in
international peer-reviewed Journals. His research works have been published in
prestigious Journals like ACS Omega, Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics, ACS
Applied Electronic Materials, RSC Advances, Scientific Reports, Journal of
Alloys and Compounds etc.
