Fashion designers work in a number of ways in designing clothing and accessories such as bracelets and necklaces. Because of the time required to bring a garment onto the market, designers must at times anticipate changes to consumer tastes.

Drawing & Color Lab:

It is said that drawing is the language of a fashion designer. This lab is designed with donkey (a special sitting arrangement), backdrop hanger and basement for still life drawing, working tables etc. which are used for making hand print, block designs, design drafting etc. to facilitate students about learning the basics of drawing.

Apparel Engineering Lab:

Apparel engineering lab of NITER is well equipped with manual and power sewing machines like, Lockstitch, Chain stitch, Button holing, Button attaching, Feed of the arm sewing, Bartack sewing machine & many more. Besides Dress-forms, pattern making tables, pattern & sewing display boards etc. are available in this lab. To keep pace with faster and more efficient working system in pattern making arena this lab facilitate with Computer Aided Design (CAD) software system.

Design studio:

This state of art supports the students to nurture & develop creativity. NITER fashion design studio includes latest version of APPLE desktop set up with Lectra Moderis, Diamino software for fashion trend, analyzing fashion & create digital pattern. It has ensured international fashion magazines like-ELLE, GQ, VOGUE, COSMOPOLITAN etc. To develop the design, cutting, sewing & finishing operation; it has pattern table, digital multifunctional sewing machines & industrial pressing machines. To exhibit final garments it facilitates with window display mannequins.

Art Gallery:

Art is an autonomous creation of subjective expression. It spreads message of inspiration, helps a designer to express their imagination so that viewers can translate the fact in a distinct manner. Again, Fashion or fashion motif is expressed through the art. On viewing such point, Niter Fashion Art Gallery is established in which several art works can be displayed at a time. Every year this gallery is decorated by the new works of our students. It helps them to show their drawing skill in a broad range and directly discuss this with the respected viewers.
